Christmas Around the World

Here is just a quick little shout out to all of my folk dance friends from my BYU dancing days. It is killing me to know that you are all together today, dancing and hanging out and eating ( I am sure of it!). I just wanted to say to all of you that I am thinking of you and wish I could be with you. Dance a little for me and let me know how the weekend was! I miss you all!

Wish you could have been here today! The reunion breakfast this morning was nice. Along with the meal, they shared memories of Christmas Around the World from dancers and directors. Some were hilarious (mostly about costume mishaps) and others were emotional and others were surprising. Like learning that Ed used to sleep overnight at the Marriott Center after dress rehearsal.

We went to the show tonight. It really was well done. They did a fifteen minute (15 minutes!) opener that started with Sto Mi, then a collage of dances--a minute of cowboy, a minute of Bulgarian, etc.--and the alumni came on at the end. After Ed's big mistake of leaving Hopak out last year (or the year before?), the show ended with Hopak just as it should.

I always leave wishing I could perform again but feeling very grateful that I was lucky enough to be a folk dancer.

Missed you tons Katie! It wasn't the same without you. Lots of good times remembered with some of my favorite people, of which you are one. :)

Katie, it wasn't quite the same without you! I was hoping you and Shane would rock out some hilarious stories about how the back of the bus rocks. :) We missed you, but I hope your babies arrive soon!
